Exploring Cricut - Happy Nw Year

Happy New Years Eve!  Welcome to the last challenge in 2012 for Exploring Cricut!  What better way to end the year by doing a challenge welcoming the New Year!!  The challenge is to make a card, layout, or papercraft welcoming in 2013.

I decided to use CAC2 since I did not use it the whole Christmas season, the horror!  ;)   This little penguin is all dressed to the 9s, ready for a night on the town.  I hope he has a good time because I know I will be in bed by 8:30.  ;)

Daily Project - Exploring Cricut

Happy Day after Christmas!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.  I was able to be with friends and family so it was amazing.

I know today's post is Christmas, but it feels like all I have been working on the past few weeks is Christmas.  So hopefully you don't mind one last Christmas project.  ;)

I was inspired to make this project from  here.  I made these for my son's preschool class and some for my daughter's 1st grade class along with the snowman soup.  I know, I know, doodlecharms again.  ;)  I promise my next project will be from another cartridge.  ;)

Exploring Cricut - It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Happy Monday.  I hope everyone got to spend time with their families this weekend.  After the horrific events that have happened here in my home state of Connecticut, I just spend a lot of time with my kids.  My daughter is 6 and in first grade like so many of those innocent angels.  Please take a moment to remember them today.

On to happier things.  Today is a new challenge at Exploring Cricut, It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.  We were to make anything Christmas related.  I made 24 of these snowman soup packets.  18 are for my daughter's class and a few spares for some friends.  I wish I could see their faces when they enjoy them.

Yes, I know, I used Doodlecharms again!  I forgot all about this cartridge and now it seems to be my favorite lately.  ;)  Especially this snowman.  It is kind of neat to see this cut so small at about 3 inches all the way to the big 11 inch one I did recently.

I used:
Cart - Doodlecharms
Die and snowman soup stamp - Jaded Blossom
Face stamp - Peachy Keen
Paper - DCWV
Inking,  jewels from SU,  hot chocolate packet, mini marshmallows and a candy cane

Exploring Cricut Daily Project

Welcome everyone!  Today is another Wednesday and another daily post for Exploring Cricut

I was thinking about creating a Christmas card, but then I remembered I needed a baby card. I felt like a rebel doing something other than a Christmas card.  ;)  One of my co-workers wife's had a baby so it is my job to do the card, of course.

I used doodlecharms for the bear.  I have used this for a few projects now and it is fun to explore some old cartridges.  You forget what is on them.  I believe I used Base Camp for the base, but don't quote me on that.  ;)  The face is PK teddy bear parts, and the sentiment around his belly is from My Creative Time with Emma.  And I did my first double bow.  It was hard for me to maneuver at first, but I was able to figure it out.  ;)

Exploring Cricut Christmas Card Blog Hop

Happy Monday and Welcome!

Today at Exploring Cricut we are doing something a little different, a blog hop!  But not any blog hop, a blog hop for those Christmas cards you..and I..still need to make.  We are all here to give you a little inspiration today and I hope you enjoy it.  Are ya  ready?  Well let's get started?

Here is my card.  Very simple, but I thought pretty elegant.  I figured if I decided to make a few more of these it would be pretty easy to do.  And easy at this time of the year is the key word.   I used Plantin Schoolbook to size my squares, Mini Monograms for my scalloped circle and Winter Frolic for my holly (it was on a cake if you are looking for the cut).  My sentiment is from My Creative Time with Emma.

Next in the line up is Sharon and if you get lost on the hop the line up is below.  Hope you enjoy our creations and get inspired to make your own Christmas cards.  ;)

Daily Project for Exploring Cricut

Hello and Happy Wednesday.  What does Wednesday mean...it's my day for the daily post at Exploring Cricut!  ;)

I have been pretty bad with doing cards lately, having too much fun with decorations for the house.  And with the holiday season upon us, I have lots of ideas for new ones, including ones for presents.  ;)

Today's project is for that little corner in my dining room that has had a Halloween banner, a Thanksgiving sign and it was looking pretty empty the past few days.  Since it is starting to get pretty cold here in CT, it even snowed here today, I figured I would make a cute little snowman to go in that so lonely corner.  He just brightens it right up!  ;)  I should note that this is about 10" inches tall, it was as big as I could make it on my mat.  I wanted it nice and big!

EC - Count your Blessings

Happy Monday

Today is a new challenge at Exploring Cricut.  This week our challenge is called "Count Your Blessings".  You are to create a card, layout, or papercraft celebrating Thanksgiving.  You can use any colors or cuts just as long as you use your Cricut and Cricut cartridges.

After I took down the Halloween banner I made, that space looked pretty empty.  Figured I should do something for Thanksgiving.  Especially since this was the only Thanksgiving decorations that made it out!  EEK!  ;)

I learned a lesson about this project today.  After I made it, I saw a bunch of stuff that just bothered me.  My ribbon was not even, my paper was not even.  I had wanted to put a peachy keen stamp on my turkey but I made it too small.  I was kinda feeling bumbed about the whole project.  My 6 year old dd saw it and said "Mommy I love it".  Everything just seemed perfected after that!  ;)

Exploring Cricut - Daily Post

Happy Wednesday.

Today is my day again at Exploring Cricut.

I made another banner.  I think I am going through a banner phase.  ;)  It is nice because they come together pretty quickly, but look so fancy!

I made this as a housewarming gift for my good friend's son.  He was so excited about and kept wanting to hold it and drag it around the house.  Good thing I  used thing Stampin Up paper to make it with!  HA

Exploring Cricut - Veteran's Day

Happy Monday.  Today starts another challenge at Exploring Cricut.  This week we are doing a Veteran's Day Theme.  You are to create a card, layout, or papercraft using any cricut cartridge.  This challenge ends on Saturday, November 10 at 10 PM eastern time.

Well I knew I had to use Stand and Salute.  This card was my second choice. I started out by cutting a word cut.  My cricut has never been a fan of cutting out words.  She gets very temperamental and messes up all my cuts.  So I had to go to a back up cut.  So since she was so moody I figured I would go with a nice easy cut.  ;)

Sorry for the bad picture.  My camera is broken and my husband had to take the picture with his cell phone.

Happy Halloween - Daily Project for EC

Happy Wednesday and Happy Halloween!

I am scheduling this post early.  I live in CT and not sure if I will have power the next few days.  So stay safe to all in New England.

For today's card, since I have the daily post of Halloween, I guess I needed to make one more Halloween card.  So what cartridge should I use....let me think!  ;)  Um my new favorite cartridge again!  ;)  I just love CAC2 and am so glad I was able to get it.

Teddy Bear Thanks

Happy Monday!

Today's card was made for a guy at work whose girlfriend just had a baby.  He wanted me to make thank you cards.  Woo Hoo, my first paying job for my cards.  ;)   It took a few weeks to get these done for him because I needed to use the new Teddy Bear Parade.  Since it took a while to get this cartridge sinced on the Gypsy, I was lost!!  I just can't use my Expression without my gypsy, I love that little girl!  ;)  So now that the update came out I was able to finally make the card.  I have already made three cuts from this cartridge (one card will be posted on Wednesday and I made the bride for my daughter to play with).  I just adore this cartridge and so glad I got it.

I know my daughter is going to have lots of birthdays to go to this year being in first grade.  She went to 8 in kindergarten!  So I figured I would get a jump on birthday cards.  I have seen this cut used a lot and figured it was time for me to finally use it.  :)  I think she came out pretty cute.

Exploring Cricut Daily Challenge

Happy Wednesday!

Sorry I am so late on posting today!  I am here now though!  ;)

Today's card was made for the mother of the little boy who was killed in an awful accident back in April.   It was her 40th birthday recently and I wanted to make her a special card.  The night of Jeffrey's memorial service for the town there was an awful rainstorm and out of it came the most beautifully stunning double rainbow!  I can never remember seeing any other rainbow so brilliantly bright.  Everything now associated with him deals with Rainbows.  So of course I needed to make her a rainbow card with her angel looking down on her for her birthday.

I used Hello Kitty for the cut.  I pop dotted an extra layer of all the cuts to give it more dimension.

A - U - N - T

Happy Monday! I hope everyone was crafty this weekend, because I wasn't! ;) It was too nice here this weekend and I spend some time outside with my kids, cleaned my store room, and went to two festivals. ;)

I made this for my aunt a few weeks ago. The idea came from Pinterest, another project checked off the Pinterest list! I bought the cardboard letters at Joanns. All the pictures were printed on computer paper at work so they are easier to mold, especially around corners. A few of the pictures are duplicated but I don't think my aunt really minded! I glued them all down with modge podge (I now love that stuff, never used it before) and then brushed another coat to seal it all in. Took some time, but it was totally worth it!

Exploring Cricut Daily - See you soon Raccoon

Happy Wednesday Crafters,

Today card is for another person leaving our department at work. He is going to another department for 6 - 8 month project, but the way my company works it could be closer to a year. ;) He helped me pick out the preschool saying on the buffalo card I did a while ago, so I figured he needed one of those preschool sayings too, since he is supposed to be coming back to our dept.

Exploring Cricut - Back to School Challenge

Happy Monday!

Today for Exploring Cricut we are doing a Back to School challenge, create any project in Primary colors.

Today's 'project' is not a project per se as just cuts. Since I am on the PTO board for my daughter's school, we needed to decorate the bulletin boards. So glad I bought that Recess cart a few months ago. I knew I would get my use out of it eventually. All of these cuts, plus a few others, are all going up on the bulletin boards to greet the children tomorrow for their first day of school. I also added in a few rolo pencils that I will be giving out to the teachers. They were so fun to make and know I will be making more of those!

Materials:
carts: Recess, Hello Kitty, Locker Talk
Paper: Recollections
Stamp Faces: All Peachy Keen

ETA: Here is the link for the tutorial for the rolo pencils that I used:

I am the co-president of my daughters PTO for the upcoming year. We will be having a welcome back breakfast for the teachers. I wanted to do a few give aways for the teachers and saw this idea on Pinterest. CGS is the name of her school and the dolphin is their school mascot.

EC - Blog Hop - Christmas in July

Happy Monday and welcome to the first Exploring Cricut Blog Hop. We are doing a Christmas in July theme. If you have arrived here from Ian's blog you are on the right track. If you are starting at my blog, thanks for coming and join us starting with Sharon.

Now for Christmas in July I wanted to do a July theme with a Christmas twist. Hope I did not think too much out of the box. Who doesn't want to go on vacation to the beach? Even a snowman, or snowgirl I should say. I mean there is only 5 more months until Christmas! EEK! So everyone at the North Pole needs to get in their last few moments of relaxation before the big man puts them back to work!

I am also offering up a little prize. Just leave a comment and a way for me a way to get in touch with you. I will be announcing the winner on Friday July 20th.

Now here is the entire line up if you get lost. Thanks for coming and happy hopping!

Exploring Cricut - You are a peach!

Here is my daily project for Exploring Cricut.

I needed a pretty special card for my daughter's kindergarten teacher from this year that just ended. She made a DVD of pictures set to music of all the kids from the whole year. I bawl my eyes out each time I watch it! So sad to be moving on from her! So I needed to send her a thank you note to let her know how much it was appreciated.
