Exploring Cricut - Daily Project and H Cartridge

Happy Wednesday.

Today's post has a dual purpose. I needed to do my daily project for Exploring Cricut and I wanted to do my H cartridge challenge to myself. I made a simple shape card from Hello Kitty. Of course my dd wants these now for her friends so I need to get back into the craft room and make more. :)

Gift Card Holder

Today's post was a gift card holder that I made for my nephew. He is 13 and does not care about anything fancy, no ribbon, no bling, no nothing. Only about the gift card inside! ;) So this was very quick and easy to do! :)

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you all get to enjoy time with special friends and family.

Today's project was made for DS and DD teachers as thanksgiving gifts. I used my new lollipop die from My Creative Time with Emma. Oh I am going to love this die. I can see myself using this a lot for quick little "thinking of you" type gifts.

Exploring Cricut - Turkey challenge

Happy Monday. At least it is a short week. :)

Today's card is for the Exploring Cricut turkey challenge. Make a project that includes a turkey.

I have been seeing a few of my favorite bloggers doing these cut out cards lately. I figured it was my turn to try it. Love how my gypsy makes it so easy to do these type of cool projects.

Exploring Cricut - Daily Project

Happy Wednesday.

Today's card is my daily project for Exploring Cricut. I decided to use Campin Critters. This is one of those carts I just had to have and had not used yet. So figured it was time.

Excuse my daughter's fingers in the picture. My stand would not hold the card so I asked her to hold it. She was so excited when I told her her fingers would be on my blog. LOL!

Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge

Happy Monday all!

Today's card is for Emma's Thorwback Challenge. If you enter this challenge you have a chance to win all of the stamps she is releasing this week. I LOVE her stamps so if I don't win them I will probably just be buying them any how. :)

This card is for a birthday party that my daughter is going to on Saturday for a boy!!! ;) Guess I was just not ready to put away the monster stamps yet. :)

Water!

Happy Friday. Looking forward to some crafting time this weekend. Hope everyone will also be able to get some time in. :)

Today's card I made for one of my special peeps. During winter storm Alfred, I got word that because of our well system we could not use our water due to potential bacterial. This was on Monday afternoon, 2 days after the storm. I did not think I would be able to find water anywhere! Less than an hour later my peep came over with 2 water jugs and some candy for the kids (since it was Halloween). I had felt such a rush of relief to get that water. :)

When I took the picture I did not realize it, but since I have seen the picture larger, just ignore the little darkness to the left of the water. It is a shadow from the ribbon! ;)

Happy Thursday. Today's card is for Glora and Pam's challenge. We were to use the turkey from Create A Critter. Very easy for me since this is one of my favorite cartridges. I have not made a tag before, so figured it was time.

Pictures from Alfred

Just a few pictures from Alfred. I took these while driving around this weekend, a week after the storm. And the towns where these pictures were taken are not even some of the bad sections. The only good thing for us is we heat with wood. My DH went around for several days and was able to pick up wood on the side of the road. We are well on our way to having enough wood for next year.

Winter Storm Alfred

Hello All, just wanted you to know I have not forgotten about you. I was one of the very lucky 800,000+ in CT to loose power due to the winter storm that hit New England last weekend.

We had no power for 4 days. Luckily we had a generator and wood stove. The nights have been pretty cold and we kept the stove nice and full. Still had tvs and did not lose any food thanks to the generator. We are still without internet access (I am typing this from work...shhhhh!) and phone service, but since some people still have no power, I am not complaining!

There was so much devestation around. I am hoping to go around this weekend and take some pictures. It is just incredible to drive around and just see so many large trees broken like twigs.

Learned a few things during the storm

1. Thanks to my peep, I can cook grilled cheese and soup on the gas grill!
2. If you heat 2 large pots water on a wood stove, it should be enough for a quick bath.
3. So thankful that my DH put in a wood stove
4. So thankful that my DH has a generator
5. To check the kids lights during the day to make sure they are off! :)
6. You can put ground turkey and manwich sauce in the crock pot all day and it turns out pretty good.

I have gotten some projects ready to cut on my gypsy so hopefully I will be back very soon. Got to do a few things I could not do during the outage, like laundry. But honestly, which is more fun, crafting or laundry! :) LOL!

Baby Card

Happy Friday. Just a quick card I wanted to share that I did before the storm and did not get a chance to post. I made this for a co-worker and his wife who just had their first baby. He loved it!
